We often think about our purpose in terms of what we are here to do, as in our vocation. But our real purpose is actually not about that. Nor is it something that can be hunted down or chased. Purpose is simply to be, resting more deeply in a quality that already lies within us, in the core of our being. It is about the quality of our consciousness. ‘Doing’ is only the by-product of our being.
How can I find my purpose?
The purpose we are really seeking is to be found in our body in a simple state of relaxed awareness and presence. Relaxation is about the spirit within us, which comes from a place of trust. Think of yourself at your most relaxed and you will have an idea of what your life might look like lived through this sense of higher purpose.
So, the next question is, how to relax?
The answer is beautifully simple: pause. It can be as little as a second or two. Just take a breath. How often in a day do you simply stop what you are doing and witness a moment of pure being? Spend more time observing and listening to nature, feeling the pulse of the earth within. Notice how often your pets will naturally just stop and pause.
Pausing doesn’t mean escaping a situation; it is more something you invite and create, especially within an activity. Be present, in the body and in your day-to-day activities.

How can this practice help me overcome my limiting beliefs?
When you pause, a different dimension to life unfolds. You witness the gift of your purpose coming alive within your physical body.
As you naturally begin to slow down inside yourself, a deep-seated calm appears. More settled inside your own skin, you become more grounded, and hence healthier and happier. A new kind of vitality emerges inside you – optimism, a quiet confidence in your own inner strength and an inner fulfilment that doesn’t depend on the external.
Being more in tune with the wider quantum environment, you become empathic. You also invite good fortune through the principle of synchronicity. Going inwards to find your essence, your whole life takes on a mythic quality as it becomes an Odyssey to mine this gold.
This is where your awareness comes, in this inner quiet state. A shift happens and something begins to change mentally. Insights start to take shape.
You begin to see more clearly how to deal with the difficulties you face. Rather than react from a low- frequency victim pattern rooted in fear, you can contemplate the real nature of your situation. Sometimes, you need to go for it and meet the challenge head-on; other times, the best response is to stand by the side and wait until a more natural way presents itself. Either way, being in tune, your awareness enables you to respond accordingly and to better decide what you will do with each precious day of your life.
Your true purpose is designed to be unlocked by life as you evolve through your challenges. Every challenge you meet is an opportunity to love and honour yourself more deeply. Keep your heart open, don’t close it down. To move through the turmoil and remain open is the quickest way to be transformed.
The key is allow yourself to be patient, self-compassionate and gentle. It doesn’t help to be tense. Approach this process with softness and see what emerges in the cracks.
